Charlotte Benderly

She was born Charlotte Cogan on Oct. 28, 1925 to Alexander Cogan, and Emma Penski Cogan. Charlotte was predeceased by both parents, as well as a brother Irving and often spoke of them. She is survived by a son Marty Segal.

Charlotte worked as a secretary for many years in and around Manhattan and in 1974, Charlotte married Ben Benderly.

In 1989, they built a home at Gull Pond in Piercefield, and loved the Adirondacks. They would often sit on the porch enjoying the beautiful view, and wildlife. After Ben passed away, Charlotte continued living at Gull Pond, but decided to downsize a few years ago, and moved to WIll Rogers in Saranac Lake, where she resided until her death.  

Charlotte was an accomplished pianist, and enjoyed playing whenever the  occasion arose. She also enjoyed playing scrabble, attending plays, and going out to lunch with her friend Amy.

A graveside service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 19 in the Beth Joseph Cemetery in Tupper Lake.  Arrangements are with the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home.
