Daniel O. Atkinson

He was born to Lanham and Ivy Lane Atkinson on June 13, 1932.

Olin is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary, and his children: Scott and wife Sherry of Dallas, and Judi and husband Kevin Latt of Bloomingdale.

He is also survived by his siblings Lanham and wife Mabel of Hurst, Texas, Linda and husband Marion Scott of Denton, Texas, Marilyn and husband Larry Ivy of Fort Worth, Texas, and his sister-in-law, Sue Wilson of Dickinson, Texas. Olin is also survived by grandson Chris and wife Kelley of Coppell, Texas, granddaughter Laura and husband Travis Roye of Austin, Texas, granddaughters Sarah of Orlando, Florida, and Jessica of Buffalo. He is further survived by four great-grandchildren, nine nephews, three nieces and their spouses and children.

Olin earned degrees in engineering in 1954 and 1955 at Texas A&M University. Olin and Mary were wed in 1956. His career was with Magnolia Petroleum Co. and Mobil Oil Corp. He retired in Dallas after 33 years.

In their many travels, Olin and Mary especially enjoyed their time in the Adirondacks visiting their daughter and her family.
