Charles L. Baker

Charles L. Baker (Lt. Col. USAR Ret.) died Friday May 23, 2014, in Sunnyvale, California, where he had been residing since early 2011.

He was born Nov. 14, 1919, in Orono, Maine, the son of Charles and Marion (Chamberlain) Baker. He graduated from Bucksport High School and attended the University of Maine, graduating in 1941.

He was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

Upon retiring he worked for various architects in the North Country.

He is survived by his son, Michael Baker and his wife Mary Pat of Lake Placid; his daughters: Jacqueline Baker and Kimberly Baker of Sunnyvale; his grandchildren: Daniel, Megan, Nicki, Elizabeth and Seth; and several nieces and nephews.

His wife Peggy Baker predeceased him.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial wil be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31 at Saint Agnes Church, Lake Placid. Burial will follow at Saint Agnes Cemetery, Lake Placid.

The M. B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements. Donations in memory of Mr. Baker may be directed to the Tri Lakes Humane Society or the Hospice of your choice.

He was born Nov. 14, 1919, in Orono, Maine, the son of Charles and Marion Baker. He was a veteran of World War II and retired as lieutenant colonel.
