Charles “Chuck” H. Zeh

MASSENA – Charles “Chuck” H. Zeh, 88, of the Highland Nursing Home, Massena, passed away late Sunday evening, Jan. 26, 2014, where he had been a resident for the past year.

Charles was born in N. Charleroi, Pa. on Feb. 5, 1925. Charles married Fern (Miller) on June 11, 1948 in Mt. Vernon Pa.

Charles and his wife Fern moved to Massena in 1958 during the Seaway and Reynolds Metals construction completion project, where he was employed for more than 42 years at Reynolds Metals and retired in 2000 as district traffic manager. Charles was a past president of the Massena Kiwanis Club, past president of AmVets, past president of St. Lawrence Valley Transportation Association, past president of the transportation fraternity, Delta Nu Alpha and past director of the Soap Box Derby.

Charles and his wife Fern were members of the Emmanuel Congregational Church.

Charles is survived by his son Gregory and daughter in-law Imelda of Saranac Lake; a daughter Candace and son in-law Roy Mittiga Jr. of Massena; and two grandchildren: Joe Mittiga of Massena and Jessica Zeh of Rochester.

As per his wishes, services will be private with the Rev. Judith Van Kennen and burial will be in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery II, Norfolk.
