Shelia M. Wheeler

SOUTH WALLINGFORD, Vt. – Shelia M. Wheeler, 57, passed away Nov. 20, 2013, at her home in Wallingford.

She was born in Saranac Lake on Jan. 22, 1956, the daughter of Daniel and Phyllis (Woodruff) Van Nortwick.

Shelia grew up in Saranac Lake and attended the local schools. Later she graduated summa cum laude from Castleton State College. She and her husband moved to Vermont in 1991 and established their family farm.

Shelia was a beautiful, intelligent, athletic and caring person who left a mark on all those she met. She had tremendous energy and zeal and would light up any room she entered. She was well traveled and had many great and unusual adventures. Shelia loved music, conversation, animals, kayaking and quiet walks in the woods. She had a great spirit for life and will be truly missed.

Shelia is survived by her husband, Tom; her mother, Phyllis Loso of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brother Donald Van Nortwick and his wife Katja of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brother Brian Van Nortwick and his wife Tara of Saranac Lake; one nephew and three nieces.

She was predeceased by her father, Daniel Van Nortwick.

There will be a celebration of Shelia’s life from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 in her home at the Wheeler Farm in South Wallingford, Vt.
