SARANAC LAKE – Folk, rock and Americana band Driftwood returns to Waterhole Upstairs Music Lounge stage on Friday, July 19.

“Growing up in the Chenango Bridge/ Binghamton area, I never really thought about it being an economically depressed town. To me, it was a perfect balance of rivers, woods, campfires, street signs, factories, and city lights, Joe Kollar (banjo, vocals) said, referencing the new album’s title. “Now, I know a little more about it being a post-industrial town, but still I see it as a diamond in the rough. I relate to the sort of underdog/uphill feel of the town.”

With the addition of drummer Will Sigel in April 2018, Driftwood feels like a new band.

“Will has elevated our sound without changing the intimate dynamic that is Driftwood,” observes Joey Arcuri (bass). With this added momentum and a new album, a nationwide tour is set in support of “Tree of Shade.”

Pre-sale tickets are available for purchase ($10) via www.saranaclakewaterhole.com or at the bar. Day of tickets will be $12.

Doors open at 8 p.m. Arthur Buezo of The Blind Owl Band performs his solo savage folk act, to start the night off musically at 9 p.m. This is a 21+ event.

On Thursday, July 18, Sammy Miller and The Congregation will take the Party on the Patio stage.
