SARANAC LAKE — Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Saranac Lake ArtWorks, welcomes back the Third Thursday Art Walks, which will kick off its 21st annual season on June 20 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. With more than 60 participating artists and businesses, this year’s season is ready to continue to make a difference in the visibility and perception of Saranac Lake as a community with a vibrant arts scene.

This event will take place along Main Street, Broadway, Woodruff Street, Bloomingdale Avenue, Church Street and Cedar Street.

Participating artists encompass every medium imaginable. Musicians, writers, jewelry makers, painters, crafts people, wood carvers, the list goes on and on.

Both the chamber and ArtWorks would like to recognize Tim Fortune for his 20 years of service to the art community as the lead organizer and champion of the Art Walks. His leadership, passion, and positive disposition has enabled the event to grow into one of the highlights of the summer season.

As Fortune transitioned out of his responsibilities, the chamber and ArtWorks have coordinated this year’s season together.

The Art Walks run from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on June 20, July 18, Aug. 15 and Sept. 19.

The mission of the Art Walks is to stimulate business, draw attention to downtown Saranac Lake and to encourage community spirit through the presentation of visual, performing, and literary arts by artists who live and work in the North Country.

Artists or businesses interested in participating can still contact the chamber or ArtWorks at 518-891- 3799 or admin@bluseedstudios.org.

For self guided maps and schedule of venues, performers, and artists for each event, call 518-891-1991 or email director@slareachamber.org, or visit the Saranac Lake Welcome Center at Harrietstown Hall the night of each event.
