Multibird band migrates to BluSeed Monday

SARANAC LAKE – BluSeed Studios “Live at BluStage” presents Multibird: the funky folk group created by Seth Faergolzia on Monday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. — an unusual night for a BluSeed concert, but this is an unusual band.

Multibird founder Seth Faergolzia is known for his subtly harmonic experimental lyricism, dynamic song structures, and whip-crack-acrobatic vocals. Celebrated as a vibrant example of what happens when a musician turns a genre like folk upside down and inside out, over time Faergolzia has come to represent something of a genre unto himself often straying widely from the standard folk aesthetic.

Multibird features Seth on acoustic guitar and vocals and Shaun Jones from Heck Yup, on electric guitar. Beat professor drummer extraordinaire, Dominic Marini was part of the Faergolzia tour team last year and has since become a mainstay of Seth’s “projects”. And.Stan Martinelli, the youngest member of Seth’s team, holds down the bass lines.

The self-proclaimed “freak-folk” group will be performing a full and varied cross-section of the peerless oddball music that has delighted and baffled audiences, collaborators, and critics alike for more than two decades.

The Village Voice, NYC, calls the group, “Giddy and inventive…it’s the 21st century equivalent of the Fugs at their finest.” And Pop Matters says, “I have never heard anything like this before or since.”

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for this special “Live at BluStage” concert performance at BluSeed Studios in Saranac Lake. The concert begins at 7 p.m.

Admission is $10, thanks to concert sponsor Cedar Circle, LLC of Saranac Lake.

BluSeed Studios is a full-service art center that offers an intimate coffee-house type experience for all.
