Saturday Night Ice Shows continue with Tyler Pierce

LAKE PLACID – The 2016 summer skating series resumes Aug. 5 with Friday’s Freaky Friday and Aug. 6 with the Saturday Night Ice Show at the Olympic Cente.

Both events will be held in the center’s 1932 Rink Jack Shea Arena. The rink, training ground for countless world-class skaters, is testament to Lake Placid’s Olympic heritage.

Women’s singles skater Tyler Pierce headlines Saturday’s skating show. Pierce, who is a 2014 U.S. junior national championship silver medalist, has also excelled on the international stage winning two ISU Challenger Series medals, bronze at both the 2015 Ice Challenge and the 2015 Tallinn trophy. She also skated to a fifth place result at the 2016 U.S. national championships.

Headliners for the remainder of the summer include U.S. ice dancing champions and world competitors Caydee Denney and John Coughlin; U.S. men’s champion and world competitor Ryan Bradley and U.S. women’s junior champion and world junior competitor Bradie Tennell.

This summer is the 84th annual summer skating program. The skaters will perform their individual and group numbers during this entertaining event.

Admission to the show is $10 for adults, $8 for juniors and seniors. Children 6 and under may enter for free.

The ever-popular Freaky Friday show will also feature skaters from the summer skating program, who create their own unique routines for this event. The skaters abandon their regular routines in favor of creativity, humor and amusement. The routines are judged on entertainment value. Admission is free.
