SARANAC LAKE — Grab your poodle skirts, leather jackets and dancing shoes as the Saranac Lake Civic Center presents a nostalgic “Sock Hop: Dinner, Dancing & Live Music with Frankie & the Moonlighters” Friday from 5:30 to 10 p.m.

“There’s nothing quite like a sock hop to get people smiling, dancing and reliving the good old days,” said Frank “Frankie” Whitelaw, lead singer of Frankie & the Moonlighters. “We can’t wait to light up the stage in Saranac Lake and help create a night full of fun, laughter and timeless tunes. If you’re not dancing by the end of the first song, check your pulse!”

A sock hop — originally a school dance from the 1950s — captured the spirit of youthful fun, great music and community. This retro-themed night revives that tradition, transporting guests back to the golden age of diners, doo-wop and dancing under the lights. The family-friendly evening supports the civic center’s mission to provide year-round recreational and cultural programming to the Adirondack region.

For tickets or more information, visit www.saranaclakeciviccenter.org/sockhop or call 518-637-7401. All proceeds benefit the Saranac Lake Civic Center, a nonprofit community facility serving the greater Tri-Lakes region with recreational programming, public skating, private rentals and events.

Starting at $3.92/week.
