Second annual Art and Music Day slated at Great Camp Santanoni

NEWCOMB — Adirondack Architectural Heritage will host its Second Annual Art and Music Day at Great Camp Santanoni on Aug. 9.

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., we will celebrate the Great Camp’s lesser-known history as a haven for artistic expression. Artists and musicians will set up at the Gate Lodge, Farm, and Main Camp complexes to conduct demonstrations and create new works using Camp Santanoni as inspiration. The public is invited to visit with our artists and musicians, take an Art and Music themed tour, and create works of their own.

Schedule of events:

Gate Lodge Complex: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. artists Jennifer Sampson and Katie Langford; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Art and Activity Table, printmaking demonstration with Riley Webster and music lessons with Brian Ricciardi; 3 to 5 p.m. Live Music by Jack Webster on the Gate Lodge porch.

Farm Complex: 10:15 a.m. and 2 p.m. Farm Tours; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Architectural Sketching with J.B. Clancy and Jocelyn Aceves; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Art and Activity Table, gourd art and the Santanoni Farm models with Tim Sauter.

Main Camp: 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Art and Music Tours with Jennifer Betsworth and Oliver Sherry; 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Artists Nancy Brossard and Sandra Hildreth; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Art and Activity Table.
