Senior Outing Club plans walk around village
SARANAC LAKE — On July 29, the Saranac Village at Will Rogers’ Senior Outing Club will take a walk around the village of Saranac Lake with Historian Jim Griebsch. Jim will take the group along the Riverwalk, showing things people have never noticed before — Bug Sculptures, murals and more along with tidbits of the history behind them. The group will also tour the newly remodeled Trudeau House courtesy of Historic Saranac Lake. After the walk around town, the group will adjourn to the Adirondack Carousel for a free catered lunch from Lake View Deli, and free rides on the carousel, along with ice cream afterward at Stewarts. The group will also venture over to the Depot train station to learn about its history.
The Saranac Village at Will Rogers Senior Outing Club is open to all seniors (55+) interested in venturing out for moderate activities at various locations around the area. Outings are held the last Tuesday of the month. The club’s mission is to “offer seniors the chance to enjoy outdoor adventures with companionship, safety and fun.” Departure from Will Rogers will be at 9:30 am. In order to attend, reservations must be made by calling 518-891-7117. This trip will be limited to 25 participants.
