LAKE PLACID — The 2025 summer concert season opens with a variety of pops tunes on Wednesday, July 9 at 7 p.m. in the Paul White Memorial Shell at Mid’s Park in downtown Lake Placid.

The concert, “American Landscape” is free and open to the public and will last about one hour. If weather does not allow an outdoor performance the concert will be moved to St. Agnes Church on Saranac Avenue and will begin at 7:15 p.m.

Announcements of a change in location will be posted by 5 p.m. on Facebook, Twitter (@LPSinfonietta) or at 518.523.2051.

The concert will feature pops and light classical selections performed by the Lake Placid Sinfonietta.

The Wednesday evening Lake Placid Sinfonietta park concerts are family-friendly, free and open to the public and a good choice for families with young children who will be encouraged to get up and dance to the music. Limited seating is available in the park so patrons are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair to sit on.

If the weather requires a move to the rain site of St. Agnes church, the audience will enjoy the excellent acoustics of the church along with ample parking and a delayed 7:15 p.m. start time. Moves to the rain site are announced on radio stations WSLP and NCPR, on the LPSinfonietta Facebook page and on LPSinfonietta’s Twitter feed.

In addition to sponsorship from Champlain National Bank, the Park Series concerts are supported with funding from the village of Lake Placid, town of North Elba and an Essex County Arts Council CAP grant with funding provided by Essex county. The orchestra’s first Sunday night concert is Sunday, July 13 as “Color My World,” featuring Debussy’s La Mer, Schulhoff’s Piano Pieces and Korngold’s Much Ado About Nothing Suite.
