ESSEX — Essex Initiatives will host its 51st annual Essex Day celebration on Main Street in downtown Essex on Saturday, Aug. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This year, Essex Day will have musical performances by Too Tall String Band at 10 a.m. and Scott Sileo at 12:30 p.m. Along with the local Main Street shops, participants can enjoy food from Essex Ice Cream Cafe, Pink Pig Cafe, The Barn Door Tavern, The Old Dock, Hotdogs for Hospice, Indian Bay Marina’s Pizza On Point, and Papa Duke’s BBQ. The event will also include more than 40 artisans and crafters; a town-wide yard sale; bouncy castle, face painting, and more.
