SARANAC LAKE — North Country Community College has announced the launch of JumpStart, a free summer program designed to help incoming students get ahead and feel confident heading into the fall semester.

Running from July 7 to Aug. 15, JumpStart offers short-term, flexible, non-credit courses in English, math and college success. Over the course of the six-week program, students will receive individualized attention to strengthen college-level skills, build confidence and set a strong foundation for academic success.

Whether you’re a first-time North Country student, returning to school, or a transfer student, JumpStart is designed to meet you where you are–and help you go further.

“We created JumpStart to support students who want to ease into college or brush up on key academic skills,” said Jenn Cantwell, college retention specialist and an adjunct humanities instructor. “These courses focusing on English, math and study skills are a great way to prepare for the fall semester in a relaxed, supportive learning environment.”

The college is offering the Jumpstart program at no cost to students who will be attending the college in the fall. Scholarships will be applied to cover all expenses.

Students can expect a welcoming, inclusive experience designed to help them transition smoothly into college coursework and expectations. The college encourages in-person attendance for the best educational experience; however, courses will also be available online. Register at www.nccc.edu/jumpstart. For more information, contact Jenn Cantwell at jcantwell@nccc.edu.

Starting at $19.00/week.
