SARANAC LAKE — Saranac Lake High School junior Ian Munson won a school parking spot at the after-prom party last weekend. A few minutes later, his name was again pulled in a raffle and he won something to fill the spot with — a 2013 Honda CR-V.

“Two for one!” Munson said on Thursday as he filled out the paperwork at Evergreen Auto.

Every year, the car dealership donates a vehicle to the after-prom party committee to raffle off at the event. This year, Joe and Cheri Fishers from the Saranac Lake Elks Club donated the vehicle to Evergreen Auto to refurbish.

This model and year of vehicle usually costs between $10,000 and $15,000.

Munson said it’s a smooth ride and excitedly showed off the driver’s license he earned two months ago. This will be his first car.
