SARANAC LAKE — BluSeed Studio’s Sober Open Minded Mic final event of the 2024-25 season is on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

There are nine 10-minute slots. The spotlight artist is the “Tiny Band,” a jazz quintet made up of members of the Saranac Lake High School Jazz Band including Nadia Polack, Sam Keating, Ebin Meissner, Abby Walkow and Jake Kollmer.

Nadia and Sam will be attending the Crane School of Music in the fall. The “Tiny Band” has been playing together as a quintet this past year for the joy and love of creating music together. With two members graduating, this is a special opportunity to hear these talented musicians.

“The Sober Open Minded Mic has a great season of performers and June 20 will be a special night celebrating creativity in Saranac Lake,” organizers Lisa and Klaus Meissner said. “Thanks to the generosity of our sponsor this event is free and open to all. Your donations are greatly appreciated for outstanding bills.”

St. Joseph’s Addiction Treatment and Recovery Centers sponsors the event.

In-person sign-up for the open mic starts at 6:30 p.m. The event is free, but donations are accepted to help cover BuSeed’s outstanding bills. Non-alcoholic beverages and snacks will be provided.

Starting at $19.00/week.
