SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Civic Center has announced that its roller skating sessions are being offered multiple times a week. Sessions started Monday and will run through September, designed to complement the varied ice sports held annually at the Civic Center from October to March.

Roller skating at the Saranac Lake Civic Center is the only such offering in the surrounding area, with the nearest roller skating venue located in Queensbury. The civic center is set to become the region’s only roller skating location, providing a unique activity for everyone.

Times and dates for all roller skating offerings can be found on the center’s social media and website. The entry fee is $5, which includes the cost of skating and skates.

“During our soft opening of this new experience on May 19, we observed all ages skating — one was a veteran roller skater, nearly 80 years old, who traveled an hour away to be with us,” civic center’s Marnie Cochran Crane said. “This particular skater remembers skating in Saranac Lake years ago and had a blast. She says she’ll return and we hope that she does.”
