LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid Department of Public Works will begin hydrant flushing on Monday. Between Monday and Friday, May 23, flushing will take place on Mirror Lake Drive, Victor Herbert Road, Main Street, Saranac Avenue, Beach Hill Road, Wilderness Circle, Northwood School Road, Parkside Drive, Cummings Road and the Signal Hill area.

From Tuesday, May 27 until Friday, May 30, hydrants will be flushed on Wesvalley Road, Hillcrest Avenue, Greenwood Street, Acorn Street, Elm Street, Oneida Avenue, Grandview Avenue, Essex Street and Kate Smith Avenue.

Flushing will take place between approximately 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Superintendent Brad Hathaway said he expects a smooth year with relatively quick flushing.
