Naked man arrested in Saranac Lake hot tub
SARANAC LAKE — Saranac Lake police arrested a man from Phoenix, New York after he was allegedly found naked in an Ampersand Avenue resident’s hot tub on Wednesday.
Police charged Achilles S. Reinhardt, 28, with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree grant larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, all felonies, as well as fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal trespass, both misdemeanors.
SLPD Chief Darin Perrotte said officers received a report of a naked male individual sitting in a resident’s hot tub. Police allege that Reinhardt had entered a fenced-in backyard and then entered a secure building to access the hot tub.
Perrotte said he was taken into custody without incident, and that further investigation revealed that he had also allegedly stolen an e-bike from another location within the village.
Perrotte said Reinhardt was recently released from Clinton Correctional Facility after serving a sentence for first-degree criminal contempt.
Reinhardt was arraigned in Harrietstown Town Court before Judge Allan Wright and remanded to Franklin County Jail, according to Perrotte.
More information on the incident and Reinhardt’s arrest and bail status were not immediately available.
