Getting out the early vote

Essex County Board of Elections staff member Jean Mussen, left, and Joan Patterson, of Lake Placid, smile as Patterson prepares to cast her ballot early at the Mirror Lake Beach House in Lake Placid on Tuesday. Early voting began on Saturday and runs through Sunday ahead of the Nov. 5 General Election. Essex County residents can vote early — no matter where they live in the county — either in Lake Placid or the Public Safety Building in Lewis. Mussen, who said she has worked over 30 elections, felt that early voting turnout had been high and holding steady each day. More information, including poll hours, can be found at elections.ny.gov. In Franklin County, the early voting location is the Board of Elections Office at the court house, 355 West Main St., Suite 161, Malone. (Enterprise photo — Chris Gaige)
