Adirondack Health sponsors skating programs at Saranac Lake Civic Center
SARANAC LAKE — Adirondack Health will sponsor 10 public skating sessions and 10 Silver Skater sessions (for adults 50 and over) — both free of charge — at the Saranac Lake Civic Center this season.
Saturday, Sept. 28 was the first sponsored public skate session. The Silver Skaters program kicks off Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. The full schedule for future months will be available on the Saranac Lake Civic Center website and Facebook page.
Tickets are required for free entry and can be secured online at www.saranaclakeciviccenter.org/skating. After clicking the link, choose the sponsored event you wish to attend for free and click “Get Tickets.” Without a ticket, admission will be $5 at the door. Sessions will be capped at 125 skaters.
“We’re proud to expand our sponsorship this year to include public skating sessions and promote winter activities in the communities we serve,” said Matt Scollin, Adirondack Health’s director of external affairs. “We hope anyone interested has an opportunity to lace up their skates and check out the Civic Center’s stunning renovation.”
“We’re happy to bring back the Silver Skaters Program, designed to bring lifelong and new skaters back onto the ice, in addition to adding sponsorships for our public skaters,” Saranac Lake Civic Center’s Marnie Crane said. “We are grateful to Adirondack Health for working with us to create this opportunity.”
Skate rentals will be offered for $5 at the Civic Center’s pro shop.
The Saranac Lake Civic Center is looking for more opportunities to offer sponsored skating sessions. Individuals, businesses or organizations that would like to sponsor a skating session or enter other partnerships with the Civic Center are encouraged to email info@saranaclakeciviccenter.org.
