Tahawus Gallery presents ‘Emerging Voices’ showcase

AuSABLE FORKS — “Emerging Voices” at the Tahawus Gallery on Main Street is celebrating the explorations of 10 young Adirondack artists, ages 13 to 18, selected for their imaginative investigations.

The group hails from AuSable Forks, Elizabethtown, Jay, Keene Valley, Plattsburgh and Tupper Lake. The media includes painting, sculpture, digital art and photography.

The artists will be Joelle Bedore, Amara Brugman, Liam Clifford, Justice Johnson, Emily Juckett, Grace Kullman, Genavieve LaScala, Jane Otap, Garrison Rodriguez and Becca Uss.

An opening reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. RSVPs are welcome. Thereafter, the exhibit is open for walk-ins Friday and Saturday afternoons through Oct. 26.

In the words of one artist, “Art is a place where one is free to imagine, to dream, to communicate, to think beyond oneself.” Another said, “No matter how many mistakes you make, you can always transform them into something that looks perfect.”
