LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid/Wilmington Connecting Youth and Communities Coalition has sheduled its fourth annual health awareness event.

The theme of this year’s event is recognizing people in the community who are champions. This year the CYC will celebrate Tina Preston of Wilmington, Geoffrey Neu of Lake Placid and a junior at the Lake Placid High School, Colin Preston.

The event will be held at the Wilmington Public Beach on Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. A variety of agencies will be present, Narcan and CPR training will be offered and there will be free refreshments. The event will conclude with a candlelight vigil.

The CYC is a not-for-profit youth development organization creating and connecting a multi-generational community and promoting mental, physical and spiritual health by empowering and educating youth to become leaders and engaged citizens.
