SARANAC LAKE — On Tuesday, a section of Broadway between Dorsey Street and Bloomingdale Avenue will be closed for road work from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Village Department of Public Works Superintendent Dustin Martin said crews will be milling the street, replacing manhole covers and frames and patching bumpy portions of the road.

The sidewalks will still be open in this portion of downtown, but motorists will need to take alternate routes to reach their destinations during this time, and find alternate parking for the businesses along this stretch, which includes popular daytime destinations such as the Saranac Lake Post Office, Community Bank and Jreck Subs.

“It probably won’t take us all day, but we’re planning on all day just to be on the safe side,” Martin said.
