SARANAC LAKE — Want to know and why artists do what they do? The upcoming Saranac Lake ArtWorks Studio Tours can help solve that mystery. On the weekend of July 27-28 and Sept. 28-29, area artists will open their home studios and galleries to the public.

For artists interested in participating, the studio tours are open to both members and non-members, and ArtWorks will waive the registration fee for those who apply now. Artists can sign up for Saturday or Sunday, or both days, in July or September, or both months. The sign up page can be reached directly from saranaclakeartworks.org. To be included in promotional materials, artists need to register as soon as possible.

For art collectors and other curious folks, the tour information will be available through the ArtWorks website, social media and hand-outs at our local galleries with maps and addresses. The hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Studio tours are free. This is an opportunity to view the working spaces where artists create their art and see the tools and equipment they use. See works in progress as well as collections of finished work. Ask questions, smell the ink, clay or paints.

Saranac Lake ArtWorks is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that has been promoting the arts in our region since 2008. For more information visit saranaclakeartworks.org, email admin@saranaclakeartworks.org, or call 518-524-1849.

Starting at $4.75/week.
