Robert Louis Stevenson Society president talk is July 10
SARANAC LAKE — Trenton Olsen, the new president of the Robert Louis Stevenson Society of America and editor of “The Complete Personal Essays of Robert Louis Stevenson,” will speak at the Saranac Laboratory Museum at 6 p.m. on July 10.
Olsen is a professor of English literature at BYU-Idaho. The title of his lecture will be “Facing Death and Embracing Life with Robert Louis Stevenson.”
Of all the many places Robert Louis Stevenson lived in his 44 years, Saranac Lake was the first to preserve a museum dedicated to the author in 1915.
Learn why the life and work of a sickly and adventurous Scottish writer, best known today for “Treasure Island” and “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” meant so much to this community.
Books will be available for purchase, and Olsen will be available to sign them after the presentation.
