‘To the kids’ hospital’

Callie Yate, 5, hands out glasses of cool, crisp lemonade at a stand on Church Street on an 80-degree Tuesday, while wearing her “uniform,” a yellow dress with lemons on it. Yate had seen lemonade stands in videos and in movies and wanted to do one of her own. Her mom, Ashley Sallot, learned about the St. Jude Summer Lemonade Stand Challenge and decided to donate half their revenue to the organization. “To the kids’ hospital,” Yate said. Cups of Yate’s lemonade cost $2 and come in compostable cups and with compostable straws. Sallot said they have a goal of $250 for the stand. They’ll be pouring cups on Church Street at random days and at random times, she said. (Enterprise photo — Aaron Marbone)
