No parking on Dorsey Street for now, SLPD says

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Police Department has temporarily suspended parking on Dorsey Street during the village’s Main Street construction project.

With traffic diverted away from Main Street during daytime hours in the work week, more vehicles are traveling down the narrow, windy and hemmed-in side street. The street has parking on one side, but is often too narrow to allow two vehicles to pass each other while cars are parked there.

A car crashed into a parked vehicle on Dorsey Street Wednesday morning, according to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department.

“The influx of traffic created by the downtown road construction has made vehicular travel along Dorsey Street unsafe with parked vehicles there,” a press release from SLPD reads. “Please find alternate parking locations. Thank you and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

Starting at $4.75/week.
