Artists sought for guideboat art exhibit

SARANAC LAKE — Saranac Lake ArtWorks is collaborating with Green Side of the Big Apple to host an art exhibit that coincides with the third annual Hotel Saranac Guideboat Show.

Artists are invited to submit one or two pieces of art compatible with the theme of the Adirondack Guideboat Show, featuring human-powered recreation. Work in any medium, framed and with hanging wire on the back will be accepted for display in the Oak Room, next to the Ballroom, in the Hotel Saranac. Display racks will be provided by Saranac Lake Artworks.

A $10 fee is required with a maximum of two works per artist. Income derived from the fees will go to a prize based on the number of entrants. Judging will take place during the opening and art sold will be given to the buyer at the time of sale. Artist will be contacted and the opportunity to add another work in its place will be offered.

On July 1, from noon to 3 p.m., artists can deliver framed art. A reception will follow from 4-5 p.m. with the show open until 8 p.m. From July 2-8, the guideboat and art exhibit will be open noon to 8 p.m. daily.

All art work remaining shall be picked up no later than noon on July 9. If the work is not picked up it will be retained in a secure location.
