‘Flapjacks on the Farm’ is May 11

LAKE PLACID — “Flapjacks on the Farm,” North Country School and Camp Treetops’ annual community-wide pancake breakfast, returns on Saturday, May 11 from 9-11 a.m.

This free, family-friendly event provides a unique opportunity to experience the North Country School and Camp Treetops campus and working, educational farm located outside of Lake Placid.

“Our annual pancake breakfast allows us to open our doors and share what makes our community so special,” said Todd Ormiston, executive director of North Country School and Camp Treetops. “We look forward to this event every year as a chance to connect with our local friends and neighbors over a delicious, locally-sourced breakfast served by our students and prepared by our talented staff.”

A large percentage of the morning’s meal will be sourced directly from the North Country School and Camp Treetops farm and sugarbush, as well as other local and regional farms. In addition to the breakfast, attendees can enjoy tours of the campus barn and gardens, hay rides and a mini-farmers’ market featuring local farms, area nonprofits and the School and Camp store and annual spring plant sale.

The event highlights the school’s commitment to sustainable living, experiential education and community engagement. With a student body from around the world, “Flapjacks on the Farm” provides a unique opportunity for North Country School students to engage with surrounding Adirondack communities.

“We hope families will join us for this fun spring tradition to kick off Mother’s Day weekend,” Ormiston said.

“It’s a great way to explore our beautiful campus, interact with our students and staff, meet some of our resident farm animals, and learn more about who we are here at North Country School and Camp Treetops,” he added.

Flapjacks on the Farm is free and open to the public. While registration is recommended, it is not required. To register, visit bit.ly/NCSCTTPancakeBfast24.
