At its April 18 meeting, the Adirondack Park Agency recognized James McKenna for his work on the North Country Regional Economic Development Council’s Regional Strategic Plan and the Next Move NY Initiative, an award-winning strategy that will strengthen workforce training opportunities for transitioning Fort Drum soldiers and connect them with local employers. For over 40 years, McKenna fostered economic growth and diversification throughout the North Country, including as co-chair of the NCREDC and CEO of the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism in Lake Placid. McKenna plans to retire as the ROOST CEO by the end of May.
