Mill Hill community meeting tonight to discuss potential development project in Lake Placid

LAKE PLACID — Local officials will gather public feedback tonight as they consider applying for state grant funding for a potential development project in the Mill Hill section of this community.

The public meeting, which will be attended by representatives from the town of North Elba and village of Lake Placid, is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Lisa G’s, located at 6125 Sentinel Road. The meeting is open to residents and business owners.

The municipalities are considering applying for state funding either this year or next year. The potential revitalization project would focus on the area in and around Mill Hill — between the Downtown Diner at 2728 Main St. and the Adirondack Corner Store at 188 Newman Road. As of last Monday, there were no draft project proposals for the Mill Hill area yet, but local officials hope to hear from private business owners about their interests in this specific area and from residents on the possibility of revitalization efforts there at the community meeting.
