SARANAC LAKE — Romano’s Saranac Lanes at 11 Bloomingdale Ave. will be hosting its first Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department nine-pin bowling tournament next weekend.

The idea for the fundraiser came from Romano’s Saranac Lanes co-owner Jeff Romano. Proceeds will go toward equipment and other expenses at the fire department.

“We always give back to the community,” Romano said. “We want the community to grow. The fire department is very crucial to Saranac Lake, and their equipment is very expensive. They need the updated equipment to help us in the community.”

Tournament times are 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 23 and 24. The cost is $125 for each five-person team. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, and donations from the public and local businesses are also welcome. Call 518-891-8301 for more information.
