Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts awarded $415K in state funding
BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE — The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts has been awarded $415,500 in state funding through the New York State Council on the Arts.
Around $19,000 of that funding will support projects by two individual artists and $285,000 will be distributed by ALCA throughout Hamilton, Franklin, Clinton and Essex counties through the Statewide Community Regrants program to support 2024 arts programming. Grants are project-based, community-focused and can represent any artistic discipline.
From the remaining pot of funds, $85,500 will support administrative costs of the SCR program, $25,000 will support ALCA operating expenses through a Support for Organizations grant, and $1,000 will go to the arts center to administer the Support for Artists grants. Recipients of these grants are visual artist Susan Hoffer for her project “Can Art Subvert Narratives in the Media: Rural Voices Rising,” and theatre artist Hannah Eakin for her project “Jane Eyre, A New Musical.”
Through the 2024 SCR program, ALCA is offering three grant opportunities to its funding region of Hamilton, Franklin, Clinton and Essex counties, as well as tribal nations and unincorporated collectives. The Individual Artist Grant funds the creation of new work within a community setting; the Arts Education Grant funds creative learning experiences; and the Community Arts Grant supports public arts programming and fosters creative communities.
Grants are open to artists, arts organizations, 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and government entities. For more information, visit adirondackarts.org.
