Families huddle underneath umbrellas in the rain Friday evening to watch Saranac Lake’s fire truck parade with Santa Claus, the Grinch and other holiday characters, which took place up Broadway from Van Buren Street to Berkeley Green. A Christmas tree-lighting ceremony featuring a holiday sing-along with the Northern Lights Choir followed. The parade was sponsored by the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department and the village of Saranac Lake. Afterward, the 40-foot Christmas tree — donated by Moody Tree Farm — in Riverside Park was lit.
