Candidate questionnaires: Tupper Lake Town Council

TUPPER LAKE — Tupper Lake voters in every election district will see two candidates running uncontested for Tupper Lake Town Council on the ballot.

They are Timothy Larkin, running on the Republican line, and Crystal M. Boucher, also running on the Republican line.

The Adirondack Daily Enterprise sent questionnaires to the candidates. Below are their responses.

Crystal M. Boucher

Age: 55

Occupation: Math 7 teacher, Tupper Lake Central School District

Position sought: Tupper Lake Town Council

Q: Why are you running for this position?

A: I’d like to help make a difference and give back to the community that welcomed me over 20 years ago and has been my home ever since.

Q: What are your qualifications?

A: My diverse employment history — which includes working in association management, financial institutions and currently our local school district for over 16 years — combined with the roles I play in my personal life as a single mom, homeowner, community volunteer and former member of the Franklin County Youth Advisory Board, give me a well-rounded background for seeing many different points of view. I believe, cumulatively, this gives me a solid background to carefully analyze issues, while listening to and weighing other’s views/opinions that would bring us towards the ultimate goal of making the best decisions for taxpayers and Tupper Lake as a whole.

Q: What are your main goals?

A: My goal is to be a part of our town board that has had so many successes over the last several years and to help keep the strong momentum in progress moving forward. I think Rick Dattola is doing a great job as town supervisor and I look forward to working with him and the rest of the board in continuing to make the most beneficial decisions for Tupper Lake.

I will continue to work towards promoting and protecting the growth that our community has experienced and be a steward for all the taxpayers.

Q: What do you think are the three biggest problems in the town, and how do you propose solving them?

A: Candidate did not respond.

Q: Other comments to voters?

A: Candidate did not respond.

Timothy Larkin
