SARANAC LAKE — More than 150 people and 57 businesses attended the Tri-Lakes Business Expo on Sept. 28 hosted by the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

The expo was held at the newly-renovated Saranac Lake Civic Center and was a combination of business-to-business networking, business to consumer networking and breakout business workshop sessions. The expo featured keynote speaker Steve Eaton, vice president of operations from Norsk Titanium, who spoke about some of the economic, social, and geopolitical challenges all companies are facing today and the importance of building and sustaining relationships in the community to help manage these challenges.

Businesses were from a variety of industry sectors and a wide geographical area including Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, Lake Placid, Malone, Plattsburgh and Glens Falls. The complimentary breakout sessions featured Doug Haney from Great Range Marketing with the topic of marketing, David Epstein Ha-Levi from the Adirondack Diversity Initiative with an introduction to the new Welcoming and Belonging Micro-Credential Program, and Ami Parekh from Bionique Testing Laboratories discussing adaptive leadership in a changing business landscape.

Origin Coffee and the Belvedere provided small tastes and sips from their menu for attendees to sample throughout the afternoon while Adirondack Therapeutics offered chair massages and many other businesses had games, prizes, raffles and products to showcase. Door prizes, donated by participating businesses, ranging from gift baskets to gift certificates were drawn at various times throughout the day. Business exhibitors were treated to a lunch buffet provided by Lakeview Catering and the event concluded with a cocktail reception catered by Cavu Cafe.

“As part of our mission and strategic initiative the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce works to bring businesses together, to connect people, to form partnerships, and to provide services and the business expo was an opportunity to do exactly that,” said Rachel Karp, executive director.
