SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department responded to a wildland fire on a beaver dam off the former railroad tracks near the North Country Community College gym parking lot at 9:13 p.m. Saturday with seven members and one truck. Firefighters said they extinguished the fire with 300 gallons of water and were back in service at 10:50 p.m.
