SARANAC LAKE — Saranac Village at Will Rogers, an independent living retirement community, will host a Healthy Senior Living Fair on Thursday, May 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. at its site at 78 Will Rogers Drive.

The event will include live educational presentations by health and human service professionals, and they and others will also host informational tables. Attendees will be able to have conversations with experts and specialists such as the Alzheimer’s Association presenting on understanding Alzheimer’s and dementia, New York state troopers doing a presentation on senior safety, the Offices for the Aging for Essex and Franklin counties, all levels of senior living communities, and area health specialists including physical therapists, cardiologists, audiologists and home health aides.

There will also be the chance to win door prizes. The event is open to the public

“We believe that quality of life is important, and we will have great ideas presented at this important event to help seniors maintain this quality as they age,” Sadie Light, Saranac Village at Will Rogers’ director of community relations and the event organizer, said in a news release.

“Our hope is to continue to grow the network of senior living knowledge and experience that will promote a high-quality healthy life for seniors. Having area services that are focused on healthy aging in one place will be a great way to educate and promote longevity with free screenings and introductions to programs available in our area.”
