Saranac Lake Dollar Tree gets green light to reopen
SARANAC LAKE — The Dollar Tree on Lake Flower Avenue in Saranac Lake has the green light to reopen from the village, and a store representative says they plan to reopen for business on March 23.
Village Code Enforcement Officer Chris McClatchie deemed the building “unfit for human occupancy” in February, after a rooftop propane heating unit broke down, leaving the store without heat. The store was closed to the public for several weeks, he said, with employees working on things other than sales.
On Thursday, he said the unit had been replaced, and after a fire safety inspection, he gave the store the OK to reopen.
“Good to go,” he said.
Dollar Tree Chief Communications Officer Kristin Tetreault told the Enterprise they are putting in new floors at the store and will reopen a week from today.
McClatchie said he was glad to get the store back open. The process went the way it was supposed to, he said. He told the shop to close, the company fixed the unit, and they’ll open for business again.
