Artists party March 31 in Saranac Lake

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Arts and Culture Advisory Board will host a mixer connecting creatives and friends from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, March 31 at the Waterhole, 48 Main St.

There will be free admission and snacks, as well as a cash bar. Emerging and “outsider” artists are particularly welcome to attend.

The event will be co-hosted by ADK ArtRise, which provides a creative outlet for people of all ages and abilities to find joy in the act of making through fun and educational art programming.

“ADK ArtRise appreciates all of the community support over the past six months,” said co-owner Britt Sternberg. “We are really excited to come together with creatives and to share more about our upcoming Spring into Art classes, as well as summer camp programming.”

“The purpose of these events is to bring together creative people of diverse backgrounds in our community,” said SLACAB board member Emilie Allen. “After such a fantastic turnout at the kickoff mixer last December, we are excited to build on that momentum with ADK ArtRise at The Waterhole.”

Commercial sponsorship opportunities are available for upcoming ArtRise special events, such as art shows and workshops. SLACAB and ArtRise both welcome donations.

The Saranac Lake Arts and Culture Advisory Board, established in May 2019, is made up of nine volunteer members who make recommendations to the village Board of Trustees regarding policies and actions that facilitate implementation of the Village of Saranac Lake Arts and Culture Master Plan.

The Advisory Board undertakes actions that support the thriving arts, cultural and community institutions in an all-inclusive environment that fosters the creative economy, community pride and downtown revitalization.
