Encore presentations of Carnival slideshow Feb. 15

Michelle Raville won the grand prize at the Winter Carnival Ladies Fry Pan Toss on Friday, with her throw reaching 50 feet. Spectators instantly knew something was different with her throw, and some speculated that she practices. Raville said the last time she threw a pan was at Winter Carnival last year. She said she moves a lot of firewood, which is her training for the toss. (Enterprise photo — Aaron Marbone)

SARANAC LAKE — Encore presentations of the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Slide Show will be held at Saranac Village at Will Rogers on Wednesday, February 15 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The slide show will feature photos taken by Meachele Manchester, official photographer of the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival, as well as and various other volunteer photographers.

Organizers are encouraging anyone interested in attending to come relive many of the moments and events of the 2023 “Roman Around Carnival.”

Manchester took on the role of Winter Carnival photography from Mark Kurtz in 2021.

She was assisted in capturing all of the 2023 Winter Carnival by volunteer photographers Skip Murray, Suzanne Rice and Sophia Dracker.

She was born and raised in Saranac Lake and spent 35 years living in the Southern Tier before returning in 2015. She has worked as an education grants writer and administrator for over 30 years and is currently employed part-time by the Beekmantown School District.

Eric Wilson of Good Guy Productions finalizes the slide show with music, and then presents it at the close of Carnival outside, and to a warm crowd indoors at Saranac Village at Will Rogers.

These showings are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
