Saranac Lake artist mixer slated Dec. 10

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Arts and Culture Advisory Board, or SLACAB, will host the first in a series of mixers connecting creatives of all backgrounds at The Garagery.

The event, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10 in Saranac Lake, will be co-hosted by Saranac Lake ArtWorks, which operates as a not-for-profit collective of artists, galleries, cultural organizations and arts-related businesses.

“The purpose of this event is to bring together creative people in our community,” said SLACAB board member Emilie Allen. “Saranac Lake has a unique history of uniting artists and thinkers. Our hope is that these artists parties will help cultivate a sense of camaraderie among our local creatives, especially after the social isolation of the past two plus years. As organizers, we want artists of all stripes to feel resourced and welcomed–and to keep Saranac Lake weird!”

Admission is free and snacks will be provided; there will be a cash bar. Emerging and “outsider” artists are particularly welcome to attend, according to organizers.
