Wednesday night was the fourth night of Hanukkah, and Harrietstown Supervisor Jordanna Mallach, left, and Piper Teig hosted the “first-ever Harrietstown community candle lighting” at the Harrietstown Town Hall. More than a dozen people attended, including Lake Placid Synagogue Rabbi Alec Friedmann and his wife Susan. Attendees lit four candles on the menorah, sang that night’s blessings, played dreidel with dried beans, learned about Hanukkah traditions, and enjoyed traditional treats of donuts and golden chocolate coins, or gelts.
