SARANAC LAKE — The Malone YMCA, in cooperation with the support from the Saranac Lake School District, Harrietstown and the Town of St. Armand, has announced that students living in the Saranac Lake Central School District can attend Camp Ampersand during this summer for $77 per week.

“We can’t say enough about how excited we are to be able to offer this discount,” said Justin Ihne, CEO of the Plattsburgh/Malone YMCA. “The generosity of the Saranac Lake Central School District, Harrietstown and the Town of St. Armand is overwhelming.”

Camp runs from June 27- Aug. 19, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for kids ages 5 to 12 years old. Base Camp takes place at Petrova Elementary School, located at 141 Petrova Avenue. Campers will participate in a variety of field trips around the Adirondacks. Swim lessons will take place at Lake Colby.

“The district is thrilled to help provide families with a fantastic summer child care option and students with a summer of daily enrichment activities,” said Diane Fox, superintendent for the Saranac Lake Central School District. “We prioritized the use of federal COVID funding to address learning gaps and are grateful to be able to stretch the funding even further by partnering with the YMCA and our local communities.”
