SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce’s second annual Light up the Town event is underway.

Now is the time to walk (or drive) the streets of Saranac Lake and through the neighborhoods and vote on your favorite holiday decoration display. Voting is open to everyone through Jan. 1, and winners will be announced Jan. 3. Pick up a map from the Welcome Center at 39 Main St., open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday, call 518-891-1990, or visit the Light up the Town website at www.slareachamber.org/lightupthetown.

The event is designed to bring the community together as businesses and homes show off their seasonal spirit while creating a festive and safe destination for locals and visitors. Additional activities include a scavenger hunt and a photo challenge. The scavenger hunt includes holiday-themed items people may find around town and at decorated homes. Participants are encouraged to find as many items as they can, return the form to the chamber (in person at the Welcome Center or by email welcome@slareachamber.org), and be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Goody Goody’s Toy Store.

The photo challenge encourages participants to take their picture in front of their favorite decorated business and share on social media with #Lightupthetown21. Participants will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $25 gift card to the Village Mercantile. Drawings for the scavenger hunt and photo challenge will be Jan. 3.

The Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the sponsors of the event, Northern Power & Light and Saranac Lake Community Solar.
