LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid News will host a virtual forum featuring the two candidates running for North Elba supervisor at 6 p.m. on Oct. 25.

The candidates — Supervisor Jay Rand and town Councilor Derek Doty — will answer questions from Lake Placid News Editor Andy Flynn via Zoom. The hour-long event will be broadcast live on the LPN Facebook page, where a recorded version can be seen immediately after it is over. A recording of the forum will also be available on the LPN YouTube page the following day.

The format is similar to the candidate forums hosted by the LPN and Adirondack Daily Enterprise for the March 2021 village of Lake Placid elections.

News coverage of the meet-the-candidates forum will be printed in the Oct. 27 issue of the ADE and the Oct. 29 issue of the LPN.

Extensive election previews for Tri-Lakes and Olympic region towns will be printed in special issues of the LPN on Oct. 22 and the ADE on Oct. 23. Early voting begins on Oct. 23.
