Moose lodge looking for stories, prepares for centennial

SARANAC LAKE — This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 457 in Saranac Lake.

Moose International is a fraternal and service organization that traces its roots back to 1888. The local lodge, Lodge 457, was chartered in Saranac Lake on Sept. 29, 1921. The lodge is committed to Saranac Lake’s youth, elderly and community.

To prepare for it’s centennial celebration in September, the lodge is inviting members of the community to share their own stories of how the lodge has touched their lives, past and present. The lodge’s records are incomplete from the prior years and is hoping to hear from anyone who would like to share a story, or perhaps has some photographs or items that they would like to loan to the lodge for the celebration.

Submissions will be incorporated into the lodge’s centennial celebration. To submit a story, contact Andrea Hurteau Barry at mooselodge457@gmail.com or call 518-891-0045.
