SARANAC LAKE — Summer staff from the state Department of Environmental Conservation will teach fishing basics during a free fishing clinic from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1 at the Lake Colby boat launch on state Route 86. Afterward, participants will have a chance to practice their skills on the lake. No fishing license needed for this event.

This opportunity is part of the I FISH NY program. The primary goal is to increase fishing participation and awareness of the fishing opportunities that New York has to offer. Children under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Drop-offs are not allowed.
